Norris Tops Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
Lando Norris has outscored Oscar Piastri at each of the past five grands prix.
The McLaren driver narrowly beat fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the fastest time in the closing stages of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the title advantage from his teammate by a single point after his victory in the Mexican Grand Prix recently, beat the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair throughout the hour before sprint qualifying scheduled for 6:30 PM GMT.
Max Verstappen, the sole remaining contender in realistic title contention, sitting 36 points Norris, finished in 17th position as his team followed a different programme.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to crash, if briefly, when he lost control at the fourth corner early in the session.
Tsunoda lost control over the curbs on exit before spinning across the escape zone, and was lucky to escape with just a slight brush of the barrier.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also had a spin, at the conclusion of the practice, rotating twice through the high-speed corner leading to the last turn on to the start-finish straight.
The seven-time champion finished practice in 19th place, trailing team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were well clear of the other competitors, with Nico Hulkenberg's car in third, over half a second slower than the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was fourth fastest, with Sauber's Bortoleto ahead of Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and Williams' Sainz.
