Grief as Beloved South African DJ Killed in the City of Johannesburg.

A popular South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a nation battling persistent crime.

Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials stated the 40-year-old entertainer was accosted by three individuals, with one shot at him before running away.

The purpose of the incident is unknown and no one has been arrested have been made, according to authorities.

The Fatal Incident

Authorities indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a location close to the Carlton Centre.

He had been present for hours at the site supervising the installation of safety equipment, which had been illegally inhabited by unknown people, according to reports.

"Authorities believe the deceased was confronted by three unknown suspects after he parked his car, and they shot at him before running from the location on foot," a police statement stated.

CCTV footage showed a man with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what appeared to be a protective services outfit firing shots on Stock before making his escape.

The DJ attempted to flee after he was hit but fell down on the opposite side of the road.

Police added that Stock had an gun that was not fired and no items were stolen during the incident.
